Skillins Solar ReVisionEnergy

Is there a better combination than sunshine + plants? We don’t think so, and we’re proud to announce that Skillin’s Greenhouse Cumberland is now harnessing the clean, renewable power of the sun through solar!

When the sun is shining, our 128 solar panels on the roof of our shop produce electricity that is either used in real-time, or fed back to the grid where it benefits our community by reducing pollution (and earns us a credit). The annual generation from the array will equal roughly 63,799 kilowatt-hours (kWhs) of electricity, offsetting the equivalent of over 79,000 miles driven in a gas-powered car, and keeping more than 62,000 lbs of carbon out of the atmosphere every year.

In addition to receiving a significant reduction in energy costs, we will be able to reduce our carbon footprint and invest in the long-term well-being of people and natural spaces. We are thrilled to take this step on our greater journey towards sustainability through this partnership with ReVision Energy. An employee-owned B-Corp, ReVision shares our dedication to people, plants and community, and we are excited to join them in leading Maine to a clean, solar-powered future.
